My father, vaidya Sri Raj Kumar Verma was born and brought up in the village Tikri of then district Meerut of Uttar Pradesh. My grand father and his father Sri Rambhajan Verma was a religious man and used to do the traditional work of gold and silver ornament making. My father Sri Raj Kumar Verma did his primary and school education in the village and then was admitted for the Vaidya Vishrad Ayurved Ratna course at Allahabad. He was married to my mother Smt. Krishna Verma, a religious lady. Later, he opened a small ayurveda clinic in the village and also a small phamacy to serve the villagers, who were deprived of such facilities in the village. Some times in 2000, Sri Verma moved to Delhi along with his family and lived there until his last breath. He peacefully left the world on 24th March 2014. He left three sons behind him and two daughters. Two of his sons are scientists and both of his daughters are teachers in government schools in Uttar Pradesh.
Raj Kumar Verma Ji was an extra ordinary man of immense knowledge of ayurveda. He was an extremely hard working person whom no one ever seen sitting ideal. He used to read, write and remain busy with his patients for whole day till 11 pm in the night and worked till the last day of his life on this earth.
I have cited his teachings to me at several occasions as follows:
It is known that several people die due to ‘not working’ enough and becoming unhealthy but no one on earth had died due to working hard!
Sri (Dr.) Raj Kumar Verma
Sri Raj Kumar Verma Ji is no more with his body, but his thoughts and his life time work and selfless services to his patients whom he treated with his knowledge of Ayurveda will remain in this world!
